What is computer firmware and why it needs to be updated.
Firmware is often known as ‘software for hardware’. It is embedded directly onto the hardware components of your computer such as the network card, the USB drives, the inbuilt webcam and allows the hardware component to communicate with other hardware components directly without the need for an operating system.

This is a simpler method to install driver updates rather than using the manufacturers driver download website area.
However you may find that urgent driver updates are first published on to the website ahead of being available to download via the manufacturers App.
